When you are having your first baby, you walk into stores like Babies R US, and are amazed at all the options you have before you. You think you need everything....and then you have the baby...and realize half of it is junk! So I thought I would create a baby page of all the things I found most useful after having a baby. Below are my favs that I use all the time and you can click on the name to see where you can purchase your own.
Fisher Price Papasan Swing
This one has always been a go to for me. It has always been a sure fire, get the baby to sleep when I am too tired to rock them too myself. I like the papasan specifically because you can lay a newborn in it an not have to worry about their head falling forward. It lays like a cradle. I would also choose one that doesn't have a plug in. I know it seems tempting to not have to buy batteries, but the plug in swings die out fast because the swing cannot take the voltage from the wall. If you use the batteries only, the swing will last you through more kids.
Bouncer:
It doesn't matter which one, just get one. Babies love these. The one I have linked to this page is the
one I wished I would have had. Babies love light and sounds!
Moby Wrap:
I really liked mine and it is great for baby wearing.
Fisher Price 2 in1 Precious Planet Projection Mobile:
This is always a go to for me. I like it because the projection posts to the mobile when they are little and when they get bigger, you can remove the mobile and the projection posts to the wall. My kids loved this toy.
Baby Cubes Baby Food Storage
These are great for when you are making baby food. I bough four trays and then would make hugs batches of baby food and place it in there. When I would go out to visit friends, I would grab one from the freezer and it would be defrosted by the time my children ate. I also liked theses because you can place all of the container into its plastic container, turn it upside down in the dishwasher and they all get washed without flying all over the dishwasher.
Baby Bjorn:
This one was my husbands favorite. He liked how well it holds our little ones. I used this and the moby wrap around the house. It was really nice when my little ones wanted to be close and I still needed to get things done around the house. I strap them in and get moving. The brown one was our favorite because it was neutral. Also, get yourself some covers to with it. It's great for when teething time hits and they drool everywhere. Click here to see the covers.
Graco Travel System (Carseat/stroller combo):
This is great. We liked the Graco because it was versitile and easy to open one handed. And when your little one is sleeping it is really nice because you don't wake them up by taking them out of the stroller. When we had our second child I got this grace duo stroller and used by carseat from the previous stroller.
For those of you who want something simple to use this works great with the carseat.
Cloth Diaper/Wipes/Nursing Covers/Bibs:
Our family does Cloth diapers as well as conventional diapers. The person I go to for all my cloth diapering needs, bibs and for my nursing cover is Sweet Bobbins on Etsy. You can see the site, here. Angela makes the best products and all of her stuff is great for baby shower gifts as well! She also does custom orders.
Rainforest Jumparoo:
We like the rainforest jumparoo because it has so many bright colors. All of my children have loved this toy. It makes for hours of enjoyment!
